Visitors Scheme
Sainsbury’s Veterans – Retired but still part of our Team
Currently the association has around 68 volunteer visitors. The aim of the scheme is to maintain personal contact with our Veterans, which reinforces Sainsbury’s caring image throughout retirement.
The role is not to give advice but to provide support and to act as a source of information. Each visitor is responsible for a group within a postal district near to their own home.
Visits take place 2 or 3 times a year in addition to special occasions such as birthdays, Golden and Diamond wedding anniversaries.
On the bereavement of a Veteran their Visitor will attend the funeral on behalf of the Company, where possible.
